Theatre Sports
On the last Friday night of every month, Waldorf Leura Gardens Resort plays host to Theatresports® Blue Mountains’ famous improvisation theatre-comedy show.
Set yourself up for lots of laughs and giggles; and to make a complete night of it, you can stay in one of the Resort’s Deluxe Resort rooms.
Enjoy a 2 hour comedy show, then after lolling late in bed (laughing is hard work you know), renew your strength and indulge in a full buffet breakfast the following morning.
All of this is included in one great price! Rates are for 2 people, show starts at 7.30pm. Please note; late arrivals will not be refunded.

 What is Theatresports®
Theatresports® is a form of improvised theatre or performance which was conceived and devised by the guru of improvisation, Keith Johnstone.
Theatresports® performances are powerfully entertaining shows made up of a series of ‘theatre games’ played by teams of improvisors (4 people per team usually, although teams of 3 or even 2 are not uncommon) – all competing against each other in a knockout-style competition for the ultimate prize – glory and admiration!
Each game has it’s own ‘rules’ and formats which challenge the performers to tell short and compelling stories to the audience using a range of different skills. For example, one popular game is ‘Puppets’; a game involving players who aren’t allowed to move independently (apart from speaking) and their team-mates (or even sometimes, audience members) have to physically move them to suit the story – usually with hilarious results!
Part of what helps make Theatresports® entertaining is that fact that all the the stories presented to the audience are absolutely unrehearsed. Everything is totally made-up – on the spot!
Australia’s improvisation ‘queen’ and author of the acclaimed book, ‘Improvisation: The Guide’, Lyn Pierse, pioneered Theatresports® in Australia over 25 years ago. Impro Australia (which holds the Australian Theatresports® licence) has over the years been presenting live, interactive shows throughout Sydney, including the annual Cranston Cup and Celebrity Theatresports®.
Theatresports® Blue Mountains is part of this wonderful impro family, and these local shows are presented for the pleasure of everyone living in and visiting the Blue Mountains, who wants to get their dose of improvised entertainment. Jazz In The Gardens
 Waldorf Leura Gardens Resort is getting into the swing of the warmer months, with a special jazz promotion every 2nd Sunday lunch starting 13th November 2011.
Jazz in the Gardens will be live jazz entertainment on the properties beautiful heritage gardens.
Local Blue Mountains residents and out of town guests alike are invited to enjoy the atmosphere while feasting on light lunch served in our newly refurbished Olive Tree Restaurant.
Set amidst 4 acres of landscaped gardens, Waldorf Leura Gardens Resort overlooks the Leura Golf Club and is located minutes away from major Blue Mountains attractions including the famous Three Sisters at Katoomba.
Jazz in the Gardens will take place every 2nd Sunday, 12.30-2.30pm from 13th November 2011 to the end of January 2012.
Entertainment and parking are complimentary.
The Roaring 20's
 The Roaring 20s...and all that Jazz! Festival, now in its second year, is a month long programme of events held across the Blue Mountains, Lithgow and Oberon, that pays tribute to the 1920s era when the region was revelling in a halcyon time.
February will be full of events including vintage fashion parades, period costume walks and adventure experiences, costume balls, high teas, steam and vintage vehicle displays, jazz performances and The Charleston Challenge Downunder, a world record attempt in Leura Mall to gather the largest ever number of costumed dancers stepping out the Charleston.
